Blown Cellulose Insulation

Green Space Construction is a leading contractor and installer of blown cellulose insulation in the St. Louis area. Cellulose insulation is composed of bits of recycled newspaper, shredded, and then blown in a cavity to insulate the area. In addition to being a great air and sound barier, cellulose insulation is very efficient, and extremely eco-friendly. It uses up to 85% recycled materials, compared to fiberglass which is typically made up of only 30-35% recycled materials.

The most common applications for cellulose insulation are attic spaces, and walls. Cellulose insulation works great as a sound barrier, is fire retardant, and is mold and moisture resistant. Blown cellulose is an excellent choice for retrofit applications as well as new construction. Installing blown cellulose insulation within closed walls can allow you to properly insulate a space without having to completely open up the cavity. In attic spaces, the joists are almost always open and exposed to thermal elements. Cellulose insulation provides superior joist coverage as it creates a "blanket" over each joist.
